Transfigured to Serve Chapter 10

Yet another 200 years had passed and now we were 600 years into the millennial reign.  The population had flourished, and the sons of man numbered 2.26 billion people.  They were at the population level of the 1940s and still growing and expanding.  Technology and science kept pace with population growth.  There had also been calls for elections to the remaining leadership positions that were being held by transfigured saints.  These calls for change had been going on throughout the world for the past 100 or so years.  Then the word from Jerusalem was given.  Elections for the remaining leadership positions would be held in 12 months.  This gave the politicians a little time to campaign for the positions they desired.

After these elections were announced to the other territorial and provincial governors and me, I made sure that all the leadership tasks and responsibilities of my position were clearly written and filed, both electronically and on paper, so that whoever was elected into my position would have clear instructions concerning the governing of the Province of Carolina, in our Eastern North American Territory.  I also prepared a brief checklist and list of contact information to help ease the burden on the pending Governor.  My support staff, by this time, had been manned by sons and daughters of man for more than 400 years.  I love them and I’ll miss them very much, but I’m sure they’ll do fine with the next Governor.

Transfigured to Serve Chapter 10

I called for a meeting of my Sacred Heart Capital staff.  We met in the main chamber in the Sacred Heart Capital building the day after I scheduled the meeting.  I stepped up to the podium and addressed my staff.

“Dear friends, it has been my longstanding honor to serve God through the governorship of this great province, but my Governorship will end soon.”  I heard the crowd gasp and then whisper to each other, as I continued, “The word has been given, from our precious Lord Jesus in Jerusalem that in 12 months elections will be held and the last offices that are held by the transfigured Saints of God will be relinquished to the elected sons and daughters of man.  The seat of power in Jerusalem will always remain the seat of power in the world, but all other positions of leadership and responsibility will be placed into the hands of the sons and daughters of man.  Praise the Lord!”  I exclaimed.

“Amen!”  They shouted and cheers range out, and a spontaneous praise and worship service started!  We prayed, shouted praises to the Lord and sang songs of praise!  It was wonderful and proceeded for about 2 hours.  As our celebration wound down, I instructed everyone to return to their duties and said that I would share more information with them as I received it.

About a month before the elections were to take place, I invited my entire staff to a splendid banquet to honor our Lord Jesus and my staff’s service to our precious Lord.  It was not as lavish or as opulent as the banquet Gus shared with us when our Lieutenant Governors were leaving, all those years ago, but I put on a pretty good spread.  We had lots of good gospel music, of all kinds and wonderful fellowship.  There was laughter, tears, and apprehension concerning the change, but it was all inevitable, and I had always kept my staff aware of this eventual occurrence.  That didn’t help with some of the staff.  They were just too close to me, and many had worked for me for decades.  Some were the children or grandchildren of past staff members.

I had seen so many people grow old and die in the service of our Lord and me.  In a way it was sad.  Generations of people died while we, the transfigured, just kept on going, never aging or succumbing to sickness or infirmity and never dying.  I liked to think on the bright side though.  So, I had the opportunity to work with, love, care for, fellowship with, and most importantly, witness to thousands of staff members.

I had the opportunity to see their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and many more generations come to know Christ and to remember each one of them vividly and perfectly.  Then I even had generations of staff members that served our Lord and me, as parents or grandparents were replaced by their children or grandchildren.  I knew many of my staff from the very day of their birth.  What a joy and honor.  Praise the precious holy name of Jesus!  As the evening wound down, with hugs, cheers and sometimes tears, we said our goodbyes and the last of my staff departed.

Election Day had come and gone.  My replacement was a member of my leadership staff and a fine Christian man.  He was the Lieutenant Governor of South Carolina, Josh Jenkins.  Consequently, He won the election by a pretty good margin and was well-liked and respected by most people.  He arrived in Augusta with his wife and his 3 sons the very next day after the election.  He and his family were staying in temporary lodgings until he took over my Governor’s mansion.  So, he reported to me the very next day after arriving in Augusta.

“Well Hey Josh, come on in and have a seat,” I said as I stood, shook his hand and welcomed him into my office.

“Thank you, Governor.”  He said as he sat down.

“Are you and your family all settled into your temporary lodgings?”

“We are, and the accommodations are wonderful, thank you.”  He said, and then we chatted for a while.

“Well Josh, would you like to take a tour and meet your Sacred Heart Capital staff?”

“That would be great Sam…Oh, may I call you Sam?”

“Sure you can, come on, let’s go meet everyone,” I said, and then I took him to every department and spent several minutes with each of the Directors and Managers that he would be leading.  Later that evening I invited Josh and his family over for supper.  We had a great time, and his wife and sons were wonderful people, who were all saved by our Lord’s amazing grace.

Over the next week, I shared with him all the information that I compiled to help him during the transition.  He learned quickly and organized himself expertly.  He was ready to take over after one week of training, and I was instructed to report to Jerusalem that Friday evening.  I said my final goodbyes to the Capital staff and the new Governor.  I walked out the front door onto the front steps of the capital, took a long look around at this wonderful place where I served for so long.  The trees had been replaced several times as they grew up, grew old and died, to be replaced by other trees, and they were full and beautiful again.  The grass was green, the sky blue and cloudless, and the people strolled by, some waved to me, while others just hurried about their lives.  I took a long deep sighing breath and then walked down the steps to where a young woman from my staff was standing holding my horse’s bridle:  my faithful old horse Astrid, also an immortal servant of God.  I gave the young woman a hug, said goodbye and mounted my horse.  The young woman, that I had known from the day of her birth, let go of the bridle and waved, backing away from us.  I vanished before her eyes and teleported myself to Jerusalem.

I arrived in Jerusalem at 5:30 p.m. EST which was 12:30 a.m. Jerusalem time.  It was very early Saturday morning, so I was assigned quarters and escorted there.  The man that escorted me to my new home took charge of my horse and led her away to the stables.

I entered into my new home; it was simple and austere, but very cozy.  They were ready for me, so the refrigerator and cupboard were well stocked, and since it was my usual mealtime in Georgia, I prepared and sat down to a hardy meal of fresh bread, salad, fruits and delicious new wine from the Galilee region of Israel.  It was a crisp, clear and sweet white grape juice that went very well with my meal.  The high elevation and cooling breezes from the Northern area of Mount Hermon, with its rich well, drained volcanic soils, made the area perfect for sweet white wine grapes.  It was delicious and very refreshing.

I sat, satisfied and content and began to pray, “Thank you, Lord, for the wonderful life You gave me and the eternal life You have blessed me with.  I praise Your wisdom, power, and generosity.  Please bless the new governor of the Province of Carolina and all those elected officials that have taken their new posts worldwide.  Let them always serve You and follow Your precepts and the guidance of the precious Holy Spirit.  I thank You and praise You for all You have done for me, and what You have done for all who follow You, in the precious and powerful name of our blessed Lord Jesus.  Amen!”  Then I read scripture, as an act of worship, for the rest of the morning until daybreak.
