Transfigured to Serve Chapter 11

I was back in Jerusalem, where I had arrived a little over 600 years ago, victoriously entering the city with our Lord Jesus and his Army of Angels and Cavalry of transfigured Saints.  I stepped out on the front porch of my quarters, looked out over the city, and marveled at the glorious changes.  I was greeted in the morning, while standing on my porch, by the same man that escorted me home early that same morning.  He then proceeded to take me on a tour of the capital city of the world, Jerusalem.  It was bigger and more beautiful than ever and the streets were clean.  The buildings were beautiful and modern, with traces of the old historical areas still standing as a testament to where everything started and contrasted to where we were then.  I contacted Evie telepathically to tell her I was back in Jerusalem.  She said that she would greet me briefly later that morning.

Transfigured to Serve Chapter 11

Our Bible based, Spirit led science propelled us leaps and bounds over what we had in the past.  Personal auto-planes were commonplace for travelers that could take the driver on short trips like any other car, but then convert, extending retractable wings and jets that could propel them into flight for trips up to 2,000 miles.  The crafts could accept flight plans that automatically flew or ground navigated you to your destination and had active radar to avoid any air or ground collision.  Accidents were extremely rare.  New clean energy sources were being used that eliminated the need to use gasses, gas, diesel, coal and nuclear power for electricity and propulsion.  Other amazing machines were being created too, and the medical technology was keeping people alive well past their 90’s, with an average age of death at 92 years old.  This was important because as the generations continued to proliferate, innumerable genetic errors were creeping into the genome.  Those that survived the tribulation were the strongest and hardiest people on Earth, so it took some time for these errors to progress, but they were multiplying exponentially.

The new medical and pharmaceutical technologies had been helping, curing many genetic disorders, and those born without limbs were being successfully treated too.  The technology was developed to grow limbs from the patient’s own cells while artificially directing the growth to produce replacement arms, legs, noses and whatever else was needed for those born without limbs or had their limbs or appendages destroyed in accidents or due to disease.  This technology was also used for replacing internal organs.  No anti-rejection drugs were necessary because the organs were grown from the recipient’s own cells.  It was amazing!

Many would wonder why our Lord Jesus would allow these errors and tragedies to happen.  Others would wonder that if the Lord had the power, why didn’t He just cure everyone and provide perfect health to everybody.  Well, for the same reasons He didn’t do that before His second coming.  Humans needed to learn and grow and have the opportunity to make their own decisions.  They needed to be tested, tried and live through trials, tribulations and yes, sometimes even tragedies, torments, persecutions and loss to build them into people that would serve God of their own free will.  We, as born-again believers, who praise His precious holy name even through all of these tests, are the true children of God.  I praise our precious Lord for his wisdom and grace, and for the free will that He blessed us with because without it, we would be mindless automatons blindly following a dictatorial master.  I praise Him that we are free to choose Him and that we are wisely tested by our omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent creator.  We need to love and trust Him of our own free will so that we genuinely love and trust Him.  We need to be tried and tested, like a father trains, tries and tests his sons, so that they grow up to be good, honest, dedicated, men, husbands, and fathers.  Our Heavenly Father works in our lives much like our fathers, but with infinite wisdom and patience.  Our God is truly a wise and awesome God.

Some would mistakenly blame God for all the trials and tribulations of humanity, but they are dead wrong.  Eve sinned because she was tricked into sinning, but Adam sinned against God willingly and willfully.  Because of his sin, all his descendants have a sinful nature, and because of his sin, the Earth was cursed.  All trials, tribulations, temptations, and sin can be directly blamed on Adam’s original sin.  All so-called natural disasters can also be attributed to Adam because due to Adam’s sin God had to punish Adam by removing some of his sustaining power.  The Earth is no longer held in its original perfection.  Humans perpetuate Adam’s sin and turn their backs on God routinely, so we are also to blame.  In fact, humanity is to blame for all pain, suffering, trials tribulations, tragedies and natural disasters that have ever existed.  Thank God, that He loved us so much that He had a plan to redeem and save us from ourselves.  What an amazing God we serve!

My guide took me to all the offices and buildings I would need to know about for my pending service to our Lord and His capital, Jerusalem.  The last stop was an administrative building in the heart of Jerusalem.  He took me up the elevator to the 5th floor and had me sit and wait in a beautiful waiting room that overlooked the city.  A few minutes later Evie walked in, and I stood up to greet her and give her a big hug.

“How are you doing,” I said as I cuddled her in my arms.

“I’m doing great Sam, and, how are you?”  She replied as she gently placed her hand on my cheek.

“I’m doing great, my love, even better after seeing you.”

“Thank you, Sam, now that you’re back in Jerusalem we can get together more often.  What’s it been – 120 years?”

“Yep, but it doesn’t really feel that long since we could talk to each other telepathically during all those years, but that’s just not like being together in person, is it?”

“No, it’s not, and I’m so glad you’re here.  I’m sorry Sam but I have to get back to work.  I just wanted to stop by for a quick moment to greet you properly and welcome you back.  Come over this evening and I’ll invite the boys over too, so we can catch up on things.”

“I’ll be there.”

“7 o’clock Sam, don’t be late.  Bye,” she said as she was leaving.

“See you then Evie,” I replied.  Just as I was about to sit back down, a young woman came in and asked me to follow her.  I was led to my new supervisor’s office.

“Good morning Sam, I’m Calvin Cantelow and you’ll be reporting to me from now on.”

“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Calvin.  I look forward to working with you.”

“Well praise the Lord, Brother,” he replied.  Then he started telling me about my job responsibilities and reporting requirements.  My job was simple.  It was to monitor the happenings in my old Province of Carolina and update Calvin on a weekly basis or as needed for breaking news.  The easiest job I’d ever had, but nevertheless important.

Calvin led me to my office and invited me in.  I had no need for support staff, so it was just me in this beautiful corner office on the 5th floor.  It had a beautiful Quilted Maple wood desk, file cabinets, book shelves, and a very comfortable executive style chair.  The computer was a tablet that had all the reports that I was required to complete already provided within its files.  I just had to update them.  I had access to all forms of communication on it, and everything was already tuned in to monitor my old Province.  I started to work right away.  I reviewed the reports and then began monitoring all communications and news from the Province of Carolina.

At the end of the day, I went home and got ready to visit Evie and the boys.  I arrived at Evie’s house very early, due to my heightened anticipation of seeing everyone.  I knocked on her door at a little before 6:30 p.m. and Evie answered the door.

“Hey Sam, come on in,” she said as she hugged me.

“It’s great to be here,” I replied.  Then we sat and chatted until the rest of my family arrived.

“Hey David, Tom,” I said as I greeted my sons and then their families.  We were all together again and would be forever.  Even if I or one of them is called away, in service to our Lord somewhere far away, we will be together in the Kingdom of God, in perpetuity.  I doubted that any of us would have to serve elsewhere though.  David had been back in Jerusalem for over 400 years and Tom for over 500 years, so I believed we were all finished in our various mission fields amongst the sons of man.  We would be forever servings, loving, enjoying our eternal lives together and enjoying sweet fellowship like we enjoyed that night.  We shared our lives with our children, grandchildren and extended families, enjoying eternity in service to our Lord.  It was amazing.

Time marched on.  It had been 800 years since our Lord, His Angels and Saints returned to Earth.  It seemed so long ago, but it was just a tick tock of moments in eternity.  The population of the Earth had again doubled, to an astounding 4.5 billion people, to a population equivalent to that of 1980, but there were signs that this doubling the population every 200 years trend was slowing.  Medical science just couldn’t keep up with the rapidly escalating genetic error rate, and the life expectancy age was back down to 82 years.  Humanity as a species was fading.  This wasn’t the only problem though.  As humanity grew in numbers, it also grew in pride and arrogance.  Our technology was astounding and resembled the technology of those old science fiction movies of the 20th and 21st century.  The sons of man did not try to colonize space though, because they knew that the Earth was and will be the only habitable planet in the universe.  This was made clear to everyone after we arrived from heaven.  The Lord himself revealed this truth.  They did explore the moon, Mars, and Venus extensively though, and began mining operations on the moon.

Pride and arrogance abounded, and many felt that they had outgrown the need for God.  Even in my old province, they were calling for independence from Jerusalem…could you ever imagine?  After all the Lord had done for them, they had started to turn their backs on Him.  The crime rate worldwide had quadrupled since just 200 years ago.  The sons of man were rejecting the scriptures, discontinuing worship and church services.  Many had even stopped praying, or worse, started praying to other deities, and gods of their own design.  This was still only a minority though.  Most people were still on the right track, but about 28% of the adult population was lost and headed down the wrong path.  Many sons of man were following in their corrupted and compromised footsteps, as crime, immorality, and corruption increased.

I knew this information intimately because it was my job to report on these trends and changes.  I reported these trends in astonished shame as the sons of man slipped away from God again!  Again!  They had the Garden of Eden and turned their backs on God.  They had dominion of the Earth and their own destinies, but they chose to turn their backs on God.

“And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.”

So, God sent the flood to destroy all but 8 people, Noah, and his family.  They had over 4,500 years after that to straighten up their acts and serve God, but most turned their back on Him and the result was the Great Tribulation.  Then they had Jesus, the Prince of Peace, Lord of lords, God with us, right here in their presence and yet they still trend toward corruption, disobedience, debauchery, and godlessness.  How astonishingly stupid!  Even with God the Son in their midst they still turn from Him…astonishing!  Oh well, I’m here to serve the Lord by reporting, not by judging His creation.

“Forgive me, Lord,” I quickly prayed, and then proceeded with my monitoring duties, observing my old province.

[Ka-Boom!]  An explosion resounded in the Sacred Heart Capital of the Province of Carolina.  It was not the Capital Building itself, but close, it was the new administrative building housing the various infrastructure offices (Department of City Engineering, Department of Emergency Management, Department of Finance, etc.)  The explosion carved a semi-circular area of destruction that took out the front side of the building.  Fire, Police, and Rescue services were dispatched.  They arrived less than 5 minutes later and began their work, putting out fires, cording off the area to protect the public and trying to rescue as many people as possible.  Then they began the recovery of the remains of those who perished.

The death toll was 238 people with 202 injured; some in critical condition, but most with minor injuries.  The bomb squad and fire marshal started their investigations.  As the details became available, I reported everything immediately to Calvin.  This was not the only incident of violence though; it had been happening all over the world in isolated episodes.  It was announced a few days later that a separatist group claimed responsibility for the explosion and deaths.  Their agenda was to be totally free of Jesus’ reign.  They wanted no leadership or assistance from the holy city of Jerusalem at all.  The bomb that destroyed the administrative building in my old province was just the tip of the iceberg.  This type of evil and murderous agenda permeated society and escalated over the ensuing decades.

We were now 900 years into the millennial reign and terrorism had reared its ugly head in a major way.  The terrorism mostly dealt with political squabbles, but also territorial squabbles and organized crime, among other goofy quarrels that had nothing to do with obeying the scriptures, serving God or anything else that was eternal and important.  They were indulging in mindless, selfish, prideful endeavors that were completely fruitless.  The behavior worldwide was very similar to that of the early 21st Century Europe, the Americas, Africa, and the Middle East.  By this time about 56% of the adult population was lost and had rejected God.  All forms of corruption, vile deeds and thoughts began permeating our populous.

Parents had long since stopped teaching their children scripture and abandoned church attendance.  Public schools banned the Bible or anything biblical from their classrooms.  Others rejected our Lord altogether and began corrupting the scriptures to serve themselves, or began worshiping gods of their own design.  Christians were yet again persecuted both privately and publicly.  It was time for another wake up call for humanity, and that wake-up call was clearly prophesied in God’s Revelation to John almost 3,000 years ago.  Unfortunately, many living during this period of time, even those that professed Christianity, had not read the scriptures and had no idea what they said, again, much like those at the beginning of the 21st Century.  You can’t know what the Bible says unless you actually read it.

As time passed the violence and disobedience of the sons of man escalated.  Jerusalem was protected by powerful Powers Angels (warrior angels) and their subordinates, the Principalities Angels, so that no harm came to anyone or anything within the city.  Jerusalem was one of the very few safe places on the Earth.  The millennial reign was coming to an end and the corruption of humanity was clearly visible even without the Devil’s corrupting power over their minds.

The Devil (Satan) had been locked up now for almost 1,000 years and was unable to influence anyone.  The sons of man are born to be sinners, because of that original sin of Adam.  They had the free will to choose the light but habitually chose darkness.  They had the free will to walk the straight and narrow path, but they often chose to wander from the path and some even turned around and took a corrupt path filled with murder, rage, hatred, debauchery, and evil.  Furthermore, they had the free will to choose to love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ, but most rejected Him, to wallow in their evil thoughts and actions.  There were so many people that just would not learn, would not humble themselves, would not heed the mistakes of their progenitors, and would parish because of it.  What a horrible waste!
